Scratch Baker

Tite Knot Craft Coffee in Redmond is hiring for a baker/bakery prep for the season. We bake from scratch every day and we are growing! We have a small staff of dedicated individuals who take pride in their work and who offer our best to our community. If you have experience in a bakery and love getting to work early, we could be the spot for you!

Duties/Responsibilities:

Assists Lead Baker in production and baking.

Maintains communication with Baristas on restocking pastries and baked goods.

Weighs flour and other ingredients to prepare doughs and follows recipes.

Bakes different bread types and pastries.

Adjusts oven temperatures to ensure proper baking.

Weighs ingredients according to provided instructions.

Prevents the spoilage of ingredients through proper storage in designated containers and in designated areas.

Monitors the temperature of food and food storage areas.

Adheres to all food handling and safety regulations throughout the kitchen and café.

Cleans, sanitizes, and maintains cleanliness of work areas, surfaces, utensils, equipment, and dishes.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, blenders and dough sheeters.

Understanding of food safety practices.

Excellent time-management skills.

Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment.

Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude.

Flexibility to work in early morning shifts.

Education and Experience:

Oregon Food Handlers card required.

Prior completion of food safety coursework preferred.

Certification from a culinary school is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.

Long periods of standing during prep or moving quickly between areas of the property to complete job (i.e. finding customers with their items, moving back and forth from the cart to kitchen or to dry storage.)

Must be available to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
