Conduct Surveys on Sound Transit - North Seattle - Start Tuesday

Stat Team, Inc. is a nation-wide staffing agency seeking reliable, professional staff to administer surveys to riders on Sound Transit in North Seattle and North of Seattle between April 23 and June 1, 2024.

The Federal Way Link Extension (FWLE) and Lynnwood Link Extension (LLE) projects received a Section 509 Full Funding Grant Agreement (FFGA) under the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) “New Starts” program. These projects are expected to open for revenue service in 2025. New Starts grant recipients are required to produce a report called the Before and After Study for the FTA. The purpose of this study is to produce the report for the Federal Transit Administration which will expand insights into the costs and impacts or major transit investments, and to improve the technical methods and procedures used in the planning and development of those investments.

POSITION TITLE: Interviewer/Surveyor

JOB DESCRIPTION: Report to assigned location 15 minutes prior to departure time to sign and in receive equipment and special instructions. Board assigned bus/rail and approach passengers to ask them to take part in a 6-7-minute survey. Complete survey with passengers entering their answers using a tablet device.

The survey questions include:

The passengers home address (mapped on the tablet using a Google API mapping function)

Where/what type of place is the passenger coming from and where are they going.

Which stop the passenger got on at, and where they will get off during this one-way trip

If the passenger used any other buses on the trip they are taking (transfer routes).

Demographic questions relating to income, ethnicity, employment, etc.

At the end of each shift, staff will return to their location and return equipment, receive supervisor feedback, and receive a report time and location for the following day. Shift times and report locations will vary daily.

REPORT LOCATIONS: Shifts will begin at various locations, including Lynwood Transit Center, in Lynwood WA, Ash Way Park and Ride in Lynwood, Aurora Village Transit Center in Shoreline, WA and other locations near Everett, Redmond, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must live in N Seattle/north of Seattle and have a personal vehicle to get to work.

Must be punctual and reliable.

Must be able to communicate with strangers (Bus/Rail Passengers)

Must be a regular user of smart phones/tablets.

Must be familiar with Google maps

Must be able to stand on your feet on board a moving bus for up to 7 - 8 hours

Must be comfortable asking personal travel and demographic questions

AVAILABLE SCHEDULES:

Schedule 1: AM Shift – Every Monday through Thursday until June 1 (excluding holidays) – shifts start as early as 4:00am-5:00am and end between 12pm and 2pm.Some weekend shifts may be available.

Schedule 2: PM Shift – Every Monday through Thursday until June 1 (excluding holidays) – approximately 1:00pm-10:00pm. Some weekend shifts may be available.

MANDATORY PAID TRAINING: Tuesday, April 23, 2024 - AM Shift – 8:00am-12:00pm and PM Shift - 1:00pm-5:00pm. (Residence Inn Seattle / North Lynwood Everett)

PAY: Starting pay is $21.00 per hour. We pay weekly via direct deposit (W-2 position).
