Accounting Specialist

Description We are in search of an Accounts Receivable/ Payroll Specialist for an educational institution in Belmont, Massachusetts. The selected candidate will be part of a small business office located on a school campus. The role involves a blend of accounts receivable and payroll responsibilities along with other adhoc duties. It offers a contract employment opportunity with the chance to result in a permanent position if desired. Responsibilities: Processing payroll, ensuring understanding of general ledger accounts and exposure to payroll. Handling accounts receivable predominantly through data entry, scanning, and posting. Maintaining an appreciation for working in a school environment. Demonstrating the ability to work independently within a small team and being self-sufficient. Familiarity with accounting software systems, ADP - Financial Services, and Microsoft Excel. Managing accounts receivable tasks including check processing and accounts receivables systems. There are no collections responsibilities associated with this role. The role requires the candidate to be onsite with a schedule from Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.Requirements Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required Experience with ADP - Financial Services is necessary Mastery of Microsoft Excel is needed Ability to handle Accounts Receivable (AR) is crucial Experience in Check Processing is required Familiarity with Accounts receivables systems is essential.
