Doorman wanted for college bar in Berkeley

Raleigh's is a busy restaurant and pub near UC Berkeley. We cater to mostly locals and college students. We are in need of a door person who is responsible for the following:

-Checking ID's

-Greeting guests warmly, passing out menus, communicating any relevant specials or events happening that evening

-Over-seeing the general safety of customers and staff

-Dealing with difficult customers or others trying to enter. Occasionally have to escort someone out, deal with authorities, write incident reports.

-Helping clean and close the bar/restaurant : bussing tables at the end of the night, wiping surfaces, taking out the floor mats, etc.

-Locking up and making sure staff leaves safely

Shifts available immediately:

Tuesday 7:30pm-1:30am

Saturday 6:00pm-1:30am

Sunday 6:00pm-12:30am

These times are subject to change, and there is also the possibility of picking up more shifts throughout the week.

We would like someone who is non-confrontational, but is able to handle sometimes physical situations if absolutely necessary. This rarely occurs, our customers are overwhelmingly nice and peaceful, but it is a part of the job. We want someone who can easily transition from welcoming host to security guard.
