Responsible for actively participating in development of commodity strategy, sourcing/negotiations, global/regional material budget execution, and interface with suppliers or internal stakeholders. Work is of a complex nature involving a considerable amount of initiative, analytical work and a high level of independent judgment.Additional Job DescriptionRequired Critical Skills:Experience with commodities (metals, stampings, castings, plastics, resins, paint, electronics, etc.)

Experience managing commercial issues with suppliers and assessing supplier performance

Demonstrated competence in negotiating skills

Exceptional interpersonal verbal and written communication skills

High level of analytical ability where problems can be complex

Developed organizational skills including the ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines

Proficient with Microsoft office products - Word, Excel, PowerPoint

A minimum of 3 years relevant experience

Preferred Critical Skills:Automotive industry experience

Knowledge of procurement software

Knowledge of materials management

Capable of interpreting market data

Able to read blueprints and to understand basic engineering documents

Solid knowledge of contract law and its applications regarding purchasing processes

Ability to work globally, independently, and self-directed

Ability to travel at least 5% of time, including international travel

Required Education:Bachelor’s Degree
