Commercial Construction Project Coordinator
ABOUT US:
Firestone Builders is General Contractor that has been around for over 30 years, performs Commercial, Civil, and Residential General Contracting works throughout San Diego County.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Project Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of construction documentation and administrative processes. This role requires someone who can effectively manage project-related tasks, communicate with clients, and ensure smooth project execution.
Responsibilities:
Functional knowledge of drawings, estimates, and specifications to ensure relation and compliance to construction/project requirements.
Organize and maintain all project required documentation, data, and correspondence between owner, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Review, prepare and submit submittals and requests for information for approval by Owner.
Support field staff with the interpretation of drawings and specifications
Coordinate material orders, deliveries and support scheduling of subcontractors and vendors
Maintain all document and project controls systems and procedures
Perform project closeout procedures including involvement in guarantees, warranties, and related provisions
Can independently oversee related activities and tasks as assigned
Must be able to read & write scopes of work.
Make calls to vendors to obtain quotes for different project tasks
Assist to create budgets, bid new projects, proposal writing, and historical data
Place and follow up material and equipment order
Create/Manage pre-plan process, work plans, and post-plan closeout
Procure, review, process, and track project submittals
Procure and track project related materials and equipment
Assist the Project Manager with RFI’s, subcontracts, and proposals
Create project close-out schedules and maintain close-out documents
Assist with schedule updates and input
Evaluate change order requests from subcontractors
Occasional jobsite visits to assist the Project Team throughout the life of the project
Organize vendor and other project paperwork
Monitor projects progress on a daily basis
Qualifications:
Experience reading plans and specifications
Experience with construction submittals
Experience with Bidmail and Public works projects
Computer skills, including Bluebeam, excel, word.
Good interpersonal communication
Superior organizational abilities, -Excellent time-management skills
Problem-solving skills and Multitasking ability
Valid DL and clean record
Minimum 3 years of similar experience
