Construction Project Manager

Cire Construction is looking for a dependable Construction Project Manager in the Washington DC Metro Region.

The ideal candidate understands that we are a customer-centered firm and will be tuned in to customer needs, while being a team lead on each project. As team lead on projects, the Construction Project Manager will work closely with contractors and team members to ensure expeditious and safe project implementation. The candidate will exhibit problem-solving capacity to meet and exceed customer expectations in quality, presentation and design. They are self-motivated and able to motivate the team to manage itself effectively and efficiently without direction from upper management. They utilize proper and sound judgement in making construction calls, conflict resolution and knowledge on when to escalate issues to upper management.

They are the primary point of contact among the internal construction and development team and the customer. They are project management-minded with a distinctive expertise in construction and development. The ideal candidate will also have a broad knowledge of construction disciplines at large and is able to serve in a punch-out capacity. They work with upper management, general contractors, DCRA and other permitting entities in recognizing and mitigating risk, minimizing excessive budget expenditure, and assuring timely project implementation. This candidate has references who can attest to their dependability and quality of work completed.

Qualifications and Required Skills:

Strong leadership skills to keep jobs focused and on-task

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to communicate technical and/or complex construction and development subject matters, both verbally and in writing

Familiarity with architectural design, mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering, and construction principles

Orchestrating construction activities, including materials, labor and equipment

An eye for detail, maintaining compliance and safety standards

Timeliness and a sense of urgency

Ability to move projects to completion without much direction from upper management

Managing contractor issues and working with upper management to ensure a smooth implementation for each project

Prior experience with contracting practices and procedures, maintaining budget parameters

Desired Skills:

Ability to develop gross design and construction cost estimates

Working knowledge of local county code requirements and inspection procedures

Proficiency in MS Office applications

Bi-lingual – English and Spanish-speaking

Education:

Minimum 5 years prior relevant experience

Compensation:

Compensation is commensurate with experience, starting at $25/hour.

This role is a U.S.-based role. Relocation assistance is not available.
