Looking for solid experienced boat Captain to join our team at Adventure X Boat Tours hiring for our Manta Night Snorkel; shifts mostly range from 5:00 pm -9:00 pm plus additional day shifts if available. We are a well established company providing excellent customer service and amazing adventures for our guests. We operate out of Puako Boat Ramp, a remote area on the West side of the Big Island, along the Kohala Gold Coast.

Most of our guests are from the local hotels including Four Seasons, Fairmont Orchid, Hapuna, Mauna Kea, Hilton and Marriott. We specialize in respectful dolphin viewing and snorkeling trips in the morning and Manta Ray night snorkel tours in the evening.

Our speciality is in Whale Watching, during Whale Season (December-March), Manta Night snorkeling, and Dolphin Viewing and Turtle Snorkeling. We promote respectful encounters with our ocean animals, and sustainable practices as we pride ourselves as an eco-friendly business. Our boat holds up to 20 guests and we operate with one captain and two crew members.

Must have positive outlook, enjoy working with people, be comfortable on the water in windy conditions. We are looking for someone immediately. We are looking for part time and full time captains. Any mechanical and electrical experience is a plus. Must be familiar with working on open bow boats. We operate a 30 foot RIB.

Preference is someone experienced in vessel operations, supervising and managing vessel crew, and overseeing safety and performing monthly drills/inspections, quality control, training, fueling, basic vessel troubleshooting, and vessel maintenance which would include oil changes.

Must Have Masters Near Coastal MMC. Masters Inland does not qualify.

-Valid Merchant Mariners Credential issued by the USCG, Master of 25 ton

-Medical Certificate

-Valid Adult/Child/Infant First Aid CPR AED Certification

-Valid FCC Marine Radio License

-Valid Driver’s License

-Pre-employment drug test compliance or equivalent; and Submit to and pass alcohol and drug tests as mandated by the USCG including but not limited to pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident/incident testing.

-1yr experience serving as captain on passenger vessels

-Comfortable navigating at night
