GARBAGE TRUCK MECHANIC

Mechanic (Kailua Kona)

FULL TIME $30-$55 per hour

Will consider part time

Depending on Ability and Experience

We are looking for a Mechanic to join our team.

You will be maintaining and repairing a 16 truck fleet.

These are diesel engine garbage trucks and they have extensive hydraulic systems.

The ideal candidate will not be afraid to get dirty and will get used to the smell.

Responsibilities:

Repair and maintain trucks as necessary.

Requires understanding or ability to gain understanding of all mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems on the trucks.

Perform routine vehicle maintenance.

Use diagnostic tools to test vehicle components.

Welding and fabrication ability preferred.

Organize and maintain shop, tools and parts inventory.

Qualifications:

Previous experience as a mechanic

Knowledge of shop equipment

Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

Deadline and detail-oriented

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Ability to switch tasks when the need arises

CDL class B and mechanical certification desired
