Environmental Safety Technologies (EST), an industry leader in environmental and industrial hygiene testing, is looking for an energetic, professional field sampling technician. This position requires customer interaction within healthcare, assisted living, manufacturing and office environments. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in industrial hygiene or other scientific discipline, and a customer-forward approach. Experience in healthcare is preferred, but not required. The position is a mix of in-office duties and on-site sampling/consultation roles. Local and regional travel is required, weekend and after-hours work may be required from time-to-time.

Manage assigned projects, including scheduling, on-site customer contacts, sample collection, and follow-up with customers as necessary.

Perform routine and emergency on-site bulk water collection for Legionella analyses for customers within the region (KY, IN, OH, WV, TN and IL) in accordance with EST or CDC guidelines and standards or with direction from ASSE Certified Consultant or CIH.

Develop and maintain routine sampling strategies for customers sampling programs and maintain shared calendar of samplings.

Perform routine and emergency on-site sampling for healthcare Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) projects and email fungal results and PC charts with written statement about results as related to healthcare construction.

The IH is responsible for the drafting of indoor air quality and industrial hygiene reports, letters and mold remediation protocols for review, email reports, letters and protocols to customers upon approval by management.

Participate in on-site walkthroughs to gain knowledge of sampling sites and points of contact.

Perform Industrial Hygiene testing or monitoring for Customers that includes sampling for OSHA standards or other federal/state guidelines with direction from CIH.

Keep up to date on current relevant standards related to IH and Water Quality

Monitor maintenance of equipment and/or calibrate equipment, order supplies, equipment and media and keep IH equipment inventory listing current.

This is a full-time position and will be eligible for standard benefits after a brief waiting period. The laboratory operates on weekends so candidates must be willing to work some weekends.
