Manual & CNC Machinist Wanted for Immediate Hire

A.G. Machine Works Inc has an immediate need to add a machinist to the team. We work with large machines.

Qualifications:

Must adhere to all safety programs including use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Ability to lift 1- 40lbs independently.

High school graduate or equivalent

Ability to understand and follow verbal and written machining procedures.

Ability to read and follow blueprints and set up sheets.

Knowledge of Fanuc controls and ability to read and follow programs, including feeds, speeds, G codes, M codes is a plus, but not a requirement.

Ability to use basic measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, hole test, dial indicator, edge finder, height gauge, depth micrometer, and fixed gauges.

Knowledge of basic shop math.

Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the manager and manufacturing supervisor, this position is responsible for setting up and operating one or more NC and CNC machines to perform drilling, tapping, milling, boring and other machine operations over a wide range of surfaces, diameters and depth.

Job setups may be complex and require machining to very close tolerances.

Load and unload parts into machines.

Check product for conformity to specifications and ensure proper handling.

Tear down set up and return tooling and fixtures to designated locations.

Will be responsible for cleanup of machines and areas in the shop.

Perform secondary operations, such as counter bore, drill press, arbor press, deburr, Burgmaster, sub-assemblies, and packaging.

Exposure to typical manufacturing areas will require the use of personal protective equipment, safety shoes, safety glasses, and in some areas hearing protection may be required.

The work environment may include their own workstation equipped with their own computer as required for the job.
