IN A NUTSHELL:

The Kitchen Supervisor is an integral part of the kitchen operations. This role is key in leading the kitchen for daily service, supporting the General Manager (GM). The Kitchen Supervisor is the shift lead who oversees the kitchen by ensuring that ticket times are appropriate and that culinary production and quality stay consistent to our training and standards. This role also ensures the fulfillment and execution of prep lists, line setups, and overall organization of the kitchen.

This role reports to the General Manager for maintenance, cleanliness and readiness of our kitchens.

THE DETAILS:

Oversee daily kitchen service from prep to plate

Maintain quality control, ensuring that every plate of food is served to standards; Execute specials and holiday menus

Coordinate with the FOH and BOH to complete catering orders

Ensure line checks are completed and kitchen is prepared for service

Ensure prep lists are completed daily and work with GM to make sure staff is tasked out and working efficiently

Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food on the line; completing the Stock & Order guide to ensure low inventory items are ordered

Maintain food safety standards including proper heating and cooling techniques as well as proper rotation of product

Maintain work ethic standards and help train other kitchen staff when appropriate

Help communicate between FOH and BOH when running expo station, including managing the holding and firing of tickets

Organization: Ensure the overall efficiency and organization of the space and storage – both dry and refrigerated

Maintaining walk-in organization, FIFO, and cleanliness

Maintaining dry goods/spice organization, consolidation, and cleanliness

Communication: manage Slack access to communicate with greater team, as necessary

Utilize Wise Sons operating systems including order guides, prep lists, and break schedules to maintain efficient operations including management of pars and maintaining food costs through proper portioning of ingredients as well as:

Receive deliveries from suppliers, checking for quality upon delivery and expediting the task of putting away the order

Maintain the cleanliness and organization of all kitchen, storage, and common use areas

Enforce proper handling and storage of all foodstuffs including, proper cooling and holding temperatures, labeling and FIFO rotation.

Ensure equipment is maintained; Utilize the cleaning schedule and coordinate janitorial & dishwashing with management

THE QUALITIES and REQUIREMENTS to succeed:

At least 2 years experience in a professional kitchen; basic understanding of Spanish is preferred

Reliable, team player; willingness to create a warm, welcoming work environment, sustaining the company culture

Technology savvy or willing to learn [Slack, MarginEdge, Flexibake, Paylocity, 7Shifts]

The ability to multitask in a fast paced environment and stay organized

Flexible schedule; weekend availability a must

Be able to reach, bend, stoop, lift up to 50 pounds, and stand for long periods of time
