Night Supervisor - Plato's Closet

Plato’s Closet careers provide retail, customer service, and fashion experience. Plato’s Closet is a clothing resale franchise focused on young adult fashion. Stores buy and sell “gently used teen and young adult style clothing and accessories that are name brands, cool, hip, trendy, clean and in good condition”. Sellers are paid cash on the spot for desirable clothing and accessories, and those items are later resold to customers for a fraction of the price of new items. Plato’s Closet hires fashion-forward individuals with an eye for trends and a strong attention to detail.

This is a highly varied role, which includes buying, pricing, sales, merchandising, loss prevention, plus training and managing the staff in the setting of a clothing store. Strong customer service skills are a must! Expect to train and coach their staff to deliver on store goals. You are also responsible for overseeing the buying process to ensure the store maintains profitability. Previous shift leader experience in a retail clothing setting and/or in a thrift or consignment store is essential, as is the ability to lift clothing bins weighing up to 50 pounds multiple times over the course of a shift without accommodations.

Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the store’s nightly operations and closing procedures. They train employees, ensure all employees are staying productive, and are clear on the store’s policies and procedures for buying and selling. Supervisor has an eye for teen fashion and style trends. They are passionate about the customer and their team alike. Night Supervisor will work five closing shifts each week based on the needs of the store. Weekend availability should be open, as this is a retail job. Top pay is available for proven reseller experience such as Plato's Closet, Once Upon A Child, Clothes Mentor, or other prominent thrift resellers. Job is in person not remote.

This is an hourly position with 35-40 scheduled hours per week on the store schedule. Eligible for health, dental, and vision insurance after 30 days of employment.

Ability to lift and move up to 40 lbs. as needed over the course of a shift (Required), Two Professional References, Background Check (Required), No Felonies (Required), No misdemeanors, such as shoplifting or assault, which would negatively impact your suitability for this role (Required). Proven experience as a retail shift leader for more than a year managing a team of 3-4 or more people in a clothing, big box, or consignment retail environment (Strongly Preferred), Proven reseller experience such as Plato's Closet, Once Upon A Child, Clothes Mentor, or other prominent thrift resellers is very much appreciated.
