Flatbed Operator
Locally owned company. Primarily hauling junk and totaled vehicles to multiple locations in Del/MD area. Driver will be assigned 1 flatbed while the company owner operates the other. We work as a team. Paid per car. Guaranteed 6 cars per day 8-10 hr days typically if you are efficient. We conduct random drug and alcohol breath tests. We are growing and looking for a reliable person that wants to work. You do your job and uphold your end of the deal we will definitely take care of you and keep your pockets heavy. Just show up on time sober and complete requested tasks. Driving and criminal history checks are performed.
Duties:
- Operate a tow truck to transport vehicles from breakdown sites or accident scenes to designated locations
- Load and secure vehicles onto the tow truck using appropriate equipment, such as winches, chains, or straps
- Safely navigate through traffic and follow all traffic laws and regulations
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting stranded motorists and ensuring their safety
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other drivers via two-way radio or mobile devices
- Perform basic automotive repair tasks, such as changing tires or jump-starting batteries
- Maintain accurate records of all tows, including vehicle information, location, and any additional services provided
- Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding safety protocols and equipment maintenance
Experience:
- Previous experience as a tow truck driver or in a similar role is preferred
- Familiarity with flatbed towing techniques is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations and resolve conflicts professionally
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic automotive repairs on-site if needed
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) is preferred.
- Clean driving record is a must
