Job description
Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and detailed construction cost estimates for projects.
- Conduct quantity take offs
- Analyze project plans and specifications to determine scope of work and project requirements
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to gather necessary information for estimating purposes
- Utilize construction estimating software, such as planswuift or Revu or other similar, to create comprehensive cost estimates
- Research and obtain pricing from subcontractors and suppliers
- Review and analyze subcontractor bids and negotiate pricing as needed - Will analyze and respond RFPs (Request for Proposals), RFQs (Request for Quotations), RFIs (Requests for Information) and manage the proposal development process to ensure on-time delivery of compelling, compliant, and well-written proposals.
- Prepare detailed takeoffs and quantity surveys for materials, labor, and equipment
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather information for accurate estimates
- Provide support to project management team during the construction phase
Qualifications:
- This is a listing for construction estimator, the candidate MUST be an estimator - Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or similar role Do Not Apply if no previous experience. -bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes
- Proficiency in construction estimating software, such as Planswuift, Revu, Bluebeam, or similar programs
- Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
