Superintendent – Commercial Mechanical Construction

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage project costs

Manage field labor

Manage subcontractors

Achieve safe, on-time and under-budget completion of projects

Job Responsibilities

Review submittals for accuracy and compliancy

Identify potential change orders

Manage Customer relations

Conduct weekly safety meetings

Attend cost, job and project schedule review meetings

Manage manpower needs

Interpret plumbing and HVAC drawings for craft installation

Plan, schedule, and coordinate on-site functions

Perform material take-offs, ordering tools, materials, and equipment in a timely fashion to maximize field productivity

Coordination of installation between trades and coordinate sub-contractor progress

Ensure all on-site employees comply with OSHA standards, MCAA work rules and Quality control guidelines.

Schedule equipment deliveries with GC and periodic inspections by governing authorities

Administer construction contract

Monitor labor reporting, job cost reviews and prepare time sheets, two-week look-a-heads, daily logs, and safety audits

Monitor project specific building information modeling, review shop drawings for accuracy and efficiency, set delivery schedules for the roll-out of shop drawings, and document any revisions to the same for as-built documents.

Requirements

Minimum 4 years verifiable experience as an HVAC and Plumbing Superintendent

At least 5 years of experience in large commercial construction (hotels, office buildings, hospitals, casinos, etc.)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Proven leadership and supervisory skills

Team Player

Organizational and planning skills

Must be detailed oriented

OSHA 10-hour certification (minimum)

Other state licenses a plus
