Growing together.The Lead, Software Engineer will be part of the SAP ERP team within the Optum Rx Technology team with focus on developing, troubleshooting, documenting and delivering end-to-end SAP solutions as part of the IT delivery team. The person in this position will collaborate with other SAP team members and staff towards defining, enhancing, and developing SAP solutions across the ERP platform and related business processes.You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:

Participate in end-to-end design workshops, providing knowledge of industry best practices and application of global SAP implementation experience

Translate requirements and functional specifications into technical specification documents for RICEFW items (reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, workflows)

Establish and maintain quality development standards

Developing and maintaining various SAP development objects including RICEFW items as well as BRF+, BDC’s, SAP Adobe Forms, SmartForms, SAPScripts, ALV oData, BADI’s, BAPI’s, LSMW, RFC calls, classes and methods, and Fiori user interfaces

Apply object-oriented ABAP principles for modular, reusable, and maintainable code development

Utilize SAP Data Dictionary for effective management and manipulation of SAP data structures

Design and implement comprehensive solutions using SAP technologies such as Function Modules, SAP Enhancement Framework, and Reports

Conduct thorough testing of developed solutions to ensure functionality, integrity, and compliance with technical specifications

Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for SAP systems, resolving issues in a timely manner

Collaborate with cross-functional team members to ensure technical design and delivery align to functional specifications and adhere to quality standards

Develops secure and high-quality production code as needed, and reviews and debugs code written by others

Stay updated on latest SAP technologies and industry best practices, continuously enhancing skills and knowledge

Serve as a leader/mentor for lesser experienced team members

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Programming, Computer Science, Engineering, or MIS or 10+ years of equivalent experience

10+ years of SAP Development experience

3+ years of experience in SAP programming language(s) including OO ABAP, Web services, S4 HANA developer tool expertise

3+ years of experience in developing and deploying custom SAP UI5 applications using SAP Cloud Platform, Web IED and developing applications with consumption of ODATA services

3+ years of experience creating custom and enhance standard CDS view and AMDP class based on business requirement, various available annotation in CDS

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in data modeling using HANA Studio, ABAP Development Tools (ADT), Native SQL, ABAP Core Data Services, Text Search, ALV on HANA, and HANA Live models consumption

Understanding of SAP modules and integration points

Working knowledge of integration tools & SAP Security and has the ability to work on cross system integrations using IDOC/ALE and other integration methods commonly prevalent in the SAP industry

Knowledge and awareness of SAP Clean Core principles including use of released API’s, in app extensibility, options and key user extensibility

Knowledge of 3-Tier extensibility model and SAP RAP (Restful ABAP) and CAP (Cloud Application) Programming Models

Knowledge on other new SAP technologies such as SAP BTP Integration Suite, SAP Business Application Studio, SAP Build, etc.

Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders

Proven proactive attitude towards learning and self-improvement, with a commitment to staying updated on emerging SAP technologies and trends

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
