Description We are seeking a Property Accountant to join our team in Los Angeles, California. The role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity within the real estate industry. As a Property Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial statements, reconciling accounts, and handling other accounting duties related to property management.Responsibilities: Prepare and analyze financial statements, general ledger, and subsidiary ledger. Provide accurate and timely financial reporting packages. Reconcile, verify, and validate all entries and postings to the balance sheet and income statement accounts. Analyze all balance sheet accounts, prepare detailed supporting schedules, and accounts reconciliation. Research and prepare monthly variance analysis. Perform monthly bank reconciliations. Prepare monthly management and asset fees calculation. Maintain and update fixed assets to properly record assets and depreciation/amortization expenses. Assist with annual budgets. Provide schedules to the auditor, tax preparer and third party. Handle other duties and special projects as assigned. Requirements Proven experience in Property Accounting or similar role. Proficiency in Yardi accounting software. Solid understanding of general ledger functions. Experience with account reconciliation processes. Familiarity with creating and posting journal entries. Ability to manage balance sheet accounts. Experience in monthly variance reporting. Excellent problem-solving abilities. Strong organizational and time management skills. Good interpersonal and communication skills. A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Professional certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus.
