In-Home Mentor for Adolescent Behavioral and Academic Support

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated In-Home Mentor to join our team, working directly in the home of an adolescent recently in intensive behavioral treatment, with the intended goal of helping the adolescent integrate beneficial behaviors and routines into their daily life. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychology or a related field, with skills in supporting executive functioning and occupational therapy tasks. This role requires a compassionate, non-reactive individual, comfortable with responsibility and accountability. Support, oversight, and ongoing training provided.

Part-time, starting 3-8 hours per week, variable days, with opportunity to increase hours and work with additional clients.

Responsibilities:

- Provide in-home mentoring services to an adolescent, focusing on the application of strategies learned in behavioral treatment.

- Assist in developing and following a structured daily schedule to enhance the adolescent's executive functioning skills.

- Offer support and guidance in occupational tasks, including but not limited to personal care, homework, and leisure activities (including occasionally accompanying the student out of the home for various activities).

- Collaborate with therapists, parents, and other caregivers to ensure a consistent approach to behavioral goals.

- Monitor progress and provide feedback to the support team and family members.

- Maintain detailed records of activities and progress reports to track the adolescent’s development.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field, experience with OT, tutoring, and/or executive functioning strategies beneficial; Master’s degree preferred.

- Experience in mentoring, tutoring, or working with adolescents, particularly those with behavioral challenges.

- Knowledge and practical experience in implementing executive functioning strategies and occupational therapy.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with adolescents who have complex needs.

- Strong organizational skills and the ability to create and follow structured programs, without being rigid.

- Demonstrate empathy, patience, and resilience, with a professional approach to handling sensitive situations.

- Must pass a background check and have reliable transportation.

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
