Job Title: CNC Production Tech

Reports to: Technical Director

Location: Port Townsend, Washington

Job Summary

Camp N Car is looking for an experienced CNC Production Tech to help us expand the hours and productivity of our Multicam 3000 5x10 CNC machine. With our CNC currently at capacity, our team needs a responsible individual who can work independently with minimal supervision producing and processing parts for our line of car camping kits, custom builds, and contracted CNC projects.

This role will start in a part-time capacity working 2-3 days a week from 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM (+/- 1 hour) during the week, with the possibility to expand to full-time in the future if desired.

Key Responsibilities

- Run our Multicam 3000 5x10 CNC table with near complete independence following a 2 - 4 week training period.

- Show essential competencies in running and troubleshooting large CNC machines.

- Help fulfill Camp N Car product orders by processing and packaging kit components.

- Basic carpentry tasks such as sanding, cutting, and drilling will be carried out daily.

- Must maintain an organized workspace to effectively track orders and projects.

- Package products safely and generate shipping labels for a weekly UPS pickup.

- Cut, process, and assemble one-off custom shop and contracted CNC projects.

- Assist in the upkeep and maintenance of the CNC machine and its workspace.

- Accurately track hours, expenses, and details for all areas of responsibility.

- 3D modeling skills (Rhino, Solidworks, SketchUp, etc.) are a plus but not required.

Requirements

Experience with CNC machines and CNC wood milling is a must for this role, preferably with large Multicam brand machines. Basic competency in CNC code and operation is also required. After the initial training period, this position will require the operation of our Multicam 3000 5x10 CNC machine independently at times.

Some basic carpentry skills and experience are required for this position. The CNC Production Tech must possess a solid understanding of power tool safety and best practices for working in a woodshop.

Schedule

- 2 or 3-day work weeks with the potential to increase to 4 or 5 in the future.

- Work days start at 1:00 PM and end 8:00 PM (+/- 1 hour) with one paid 15-minute break and one unpaid 30-minute meal break.
