Senior Automation Engineer

10x Genomics, Inc. in Pleasanton, CA seeks a Senior Automation Engineer.

Responsibilities: Responsible for working closely with Product Development, Process Development, Manufacturing and R&D teams to assure 10x implements world class automation solutions. Specific duties include: developing and implementing industrial automation solutions for robust manufacturing; working closely with design manufacturing firms on complex automation projects from defining project scope all the way to the site acceptance tests; writing software to control robotic systems and industrial PLCs for process control; leading design activities for new automation systems; supporting existing automation infrastructure with troubleshooting and root cause analysis; analyzing performance data and establish trends, identify errors and make improvements to systems to ensure reliability; providing guidance for expansion of data collection activities to R&D organization; developing calibration and maintenance documentation for automation systems; contributing automation expertise and leadership to cross-disciplinary development teams to develop timely automation solutions for new product manufacturing; other duties as assigned. Salary Range $150k - $180k.

Education: Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biochemistry, Genomics, or related field (or foreign equivalent).

Requirements: Three (3) years of experience in job offered or related positions. Other special requirements: Three (3) years of mechanical design experience with Solidworks; three (3) years of experience with standard industrial automation technologies such PLCs, SCARA, multi-axis robots, SCADA, vision and HMI programming; three (3) years of experience deploying automation solutions in a manufacturing setting.
