Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Secretary III for the Department of Extramural Clinics of Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (RSDM).Under the supervision of the Office Manager, the Secretary III provides administrative and general office services to the Unit.Among the key duties of this position are the following:Responsible for maintaining patient schedule book for the clinic.Prepares monthly reports as requested.Implements patient registration, billing, account review, and other procedures for the day-to-day management of patients' accounts.Verifies patient insurance eligibility and establishes method of payment.Runs daily insurance eligibility ahead of patients' scheduled visits.Receives and assists patients and visitors.Handles phone calls in a professional and helpful manner.Serves as liaison between department and other departments within the University system. Seniority Unit Terms of Appointment Staff - 12 month Position Pension Eligibility PERS Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Graduation from an accredited program in secretarial studies plus two (2) years of full-time secretarial experience.An additional year of experience is required in lieu of the secretarial program.College credits may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for secretarial experience.Up to sixty (60) credits may be substituted for two (2) years of secretarial experience. Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficiency in typing and word processing skills.Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office.Excellent telephone and customer service skills.Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks accurately in a fast paced environment.
