Working Manufacturing Supervisor
We are looking for a highly capable manufacturing supervisor to join our business's production division. You will be a working supervisor, meaning you will be cross-trained on all the machinery and work alongside your team.
To ensure success, you should possess extensive knowledge of production and experience in a similar industry. A first-class manufacturing night shift supervisor will be someone whose production knowledge and skills result in the manufacturing of high-quality products. On a daily basis, you’ll supervise employees during the night shift and make sure that they complete their tasks and are motivated to work effectively. Shift supervisor skills include contributing to the production strategy by knowing the business goals and how to achieve them. You’ll also act as a reference point for employees, ready to fix problems that occasionally arise.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED (preferred, but not required)3-5 years of leadership experience, ideally in a fast-paced 24/7 environment
Extensive experience in performing quality control procedures and meeting production standards
Leadership and conflict-management skills
The ability to meet the physical demands of the job, such as standing up for long hours and lifting heavy loads (50 lbs) occasionally
Knowledge of production processes in a related industry is preferred
Working knowledge of computers and office software
Strong technical and mechanical aptitude
Excellent organizational and time management abilities
Great communication and collaboration skills
Keen attention to detail and problem-solving techniques
Experience with basic maintenance and troubleshooting of heavy machinery
Welding and fabricating experience desired
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Is the Coach, Leader, and Manager of the night shift production crew
Build consensus and foster positive relationships
Responsible for the safety and wellbeing of themselves and all other employees working on their shift
Responsible for regular monitoring of the shift performance and the communication/coordination of improvement initiatives
Write routine shift pass-down memos
Assess workload, and assign, prioritize, delegate, and evaluate the work of other staff members
Use various power and hand tools
Operating a 475 ton and 200 ton hydraulic press safely
Operating an automated saw
Operating a LASER marking machine
Operating a plastic extrusion machine
Manual labor; involves lifting and maneuvering heavy objects
Updating productivity records and writing incident reports, if relevant
Training and supervising new employees.
Collaborating with other departments to complete production orders on time
Write routine reports and correspondence
Complying with internal policies and industry regulations
Participate in the development and maintenance of SOP’s
Other tasks as directed by the Production Manager
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
$25-$29 per hour, depending on experience; night shift gets a 10% shift differential
