Job Title: Porter

Salary Range: $22 - $25 Per Hour

Location: Various properties on Capitol Hill

Schedule: Monday – Friday

Job Summary:

The Porter is responsible for readying trash bins for pickup, maintaining the grounds, exteriors, parking lots, and other duties as requested within various multi-family residential apartment buildings on Capitol Hill in Seattle.

Responsibilities:

Maintenance:

Maintain the grounds, amenities, building exteriors, leasing office, and parking lots.

Prepare trash bins for scheduled pickups, remove trash from the apartment community grounds as needed.

Assist the Maintenance team as needed and requested by assisting with preparation of units for leasing, assisting with various maintenance tasks, etc.

Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisors and Property Managers to address maintenance tasks when needed promptly.

Contribute to snow removal efforts (if applicable).

Provide back up support to Maintenance Technician when necessary.

Report maintenance concerns related to available apartments, models, clubhouse, and common areas to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Maintain curb appeal by ensuring cleanliness.

Assist the management team with various tasks as needed.

Adhere to company policies, goals, and values.

Correct unsafe conditions promptly.

Comply with safety rules at the company, local, state, and federal levels.

Report any unsafe conditions immediately.

Essential Qualifications:

Neat, clean, and professional appearance throughout the workday

Successful completion of a background check

Ability to perform tasks without seeking outside contractor assistance.

Strong communication skills for interacting with residents, co-workers, and senior management

Team-oriented mindset for maintaining a successful community

Additional Requirements:

Attendance is critical as many functions are day / time sensitive.

Comply with company policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Working Conditions

· Driver’s License and vehicle are highly desirable, but job functions can be performed by walking to / from the various properties.

· Working in a maintenance environment may mean exposure to dust, fumes, solvents, variable light conditions and noise, as well as inclement weather.

· The ability to lift, carry and position light (15 pounds consistently) to heavy weight objects (50 – 100 pounds occasionally with assistance) and push/pulling equipment of equal weight is required including the utilization of proper body mechanics and techniques.

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel crouch, climb, use ladders, and perform various types of manual labor.

Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

· Authorized to work in the United States

· Demonstrates teamwork, excellent customer service skills & ability to multi-task.

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
