Reporting to the McKFRC Co Executive Director, this person creates and maintains a welcoming environment at the front desk at The Center at McKinleyville. In addition to duties specific to the position, this person works as part of a team that focuses on maintaining high standards for the quality of programming and services provided to all of our clients.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to be part of a first-of-its-kind, innovative, integrated services center in McKinleyville. The Center at McKinleyville is a place where people can go to get connected to resources, access services, and participate in community events and activities.

The Center at McKinleyville Front Desk Staff Job Description

Hours:

Full-time 36 hours a week, within an 8AM-5PM Monday-Friday schedule, benefited position

Salary Range: $22-$27.69 an hour. Pay typically begins at the low end of this scale.

Position Summary: Reporting to the McKinleyville FRC Co Executive Director, the Front Desk Staff person is responsible for creating and maintaining a welcoming environment at The Center at McKinleyville. In addition to duties specific to the position, this person works as part of a team that supports our programming with a focus on maintaining high standards for the quality of services provided to all clients.

Alongside the Front Desk Team, this person is responsible for maintaining a clean and inviting environment at The Center, overseeing general building maintenance in collaboration with partnered agencies onsite, coordinating with staff, interns, and volunteers to provide excellent customer service, and fulfilling other duties as assigned.

Tasks:

- Welcome community members to The Center lobby

- Direct program participants to appropriate service providers

- Create an environment that is welcoming and respectful of all people.

- Maintain working knowledge of all services available at The Center and connect program participants as appropriate

- Answer phones and direct calls

- Navigate crisis situations with professionalism and an emphasis on client care.

- Support AFACTR AmeriCorps, Interns and volunteers to provide high quality services to all program participants

- Collaborate with staff to schedule coverage of The Center front desk including breaks and lunches for all front desk staff.

- Data entry, file-keeping, and appointment scheduling

- Ensure security, integrity, and confidentiality of client data

- Ensure kitchen and office area have all supplies needed for day-to-day functioning

- Support facilitation of meeting room usage at The Center at McKinleyville. Work closely with FRC Administration to:

- Maintain calendars for each of the meeting rooms at The Center at McKinleyville.

- Collect Facility Use Agreements, deposits and fees associated with room use.

- Evaluate Facility Use Agreements to determine specific needs such as supplies, use of the kitchen, arrange catering if requested, and oversight of the rooms set-up, break down, and verifying performance of cleaning expectations as agreed upon and posted.

- Oversee the daily use and cleaning activities as the need arises in the common areas, including kitchen maintenance, wiping down of surfaces in common areas, and managing immediate needs, e.g. spills, vacuuming, spot cleaning, etc.

Qualifications

- Ability to practice cultural humility without discrimination towards peoples of diverse cultures, races/ethnicity, socio-economic positions, ages, religions, genders, physical/mental challenges/disabilities, and sexual orientations.

- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish, English and Hmong, or English and a local Native language preferred

- Ability to work well as part of a team

- Working knowledge of community resources within Humboldt County

- Strong computer skills, including word processing and data entry
