If you're passionate about healthy living and positive impact, join us in nourishing people and the planet!The Perishables Supply Chain Analyst is primarily focused on supporting the optimization of Whole Foods Market store in-stock position across Produce, Meat, Seafood, and Floral departments. Team Members in this role will be responsible for learning, leveraging, and configuring store ordering and inventory tools in addition to providing detailed weekly input/output analysis to identify opportunities, root causes, and solutions. ISAs frequently collaborate with business partners and stakeholders across Perishables Supply Chain and Merchandising, Retail Operations, Global Distribution, Data and Technical teams, and more. This is an exciting opportunity to utilize strong analytical skills, creativity, and knowledge of perishables supply chains to drive continuous improvement of a growing program. Location: This hybrid position is based in Austin, TX and will require a minimum of three days per week in our downtown offices. ResponsibilitiesForecast/Store Order Management
Calculate effective target inventory positions (TIP) to maximize store in-stock rate and minimize shrink – maintain all store/item TIP settings within centralized inventory management/ordering tools
Determine appropriate forecast quantile inputs to TIP by category/class/item
Utilize available data from merchandising and in-stock partners to effectively manage display and safety stock inputs to TIP
Maintain vendor order deadline and delivery schedule records within ordering systems – troubleshoot challenges in partnership with ISMs, distributors, stores, and category merchants
Manage store demand forecast configurations for promotional, seasonal, and other special events in alignment with Merchandising/In-Stock Manager guidance
Provide troubleshooting support for store order writers
Intake and analyze store feedback related to forecasting, inventory, and/or reporting errors to determine root cause and apply fixes
Conduct store visits as necessary to evaluate the performance of ordering and forecasting systems in real time
Coordinate with appropriate business partners (Perishables Merchandising, WFM Data) to implement foundational item data corrections where necessary
Analytics
Perform detailed analysis of system generated forecasts and store order tool data for anomalies – troubleshoot root causes and apply fixes
Perform detailed root cause analysis of Out of Stock (OOS) defects and store inventory levels – apply appropriate fixes, where applicable
Review store ordering behavior and identify opportunities to reduce under/over ordering
Provide written reporting and visualizations/present summaries of findings for weekly and monthly business reviews
Partner with Senior Analysts to leverage/develop routine and ad hoc reporting solutions that provide insight into forecasting, inventory, and store ordering metrics
Utilize database and reporting/visualization tools (SQL, Alteryx, QuickSight, Tableau, Everclear, Excel, etc) to capture and analyze relevant information
Maintain a thorough understanding of WFM retail and purchasing data – coordinate with category merchants, distribution partners, and WFM global data to address item data hosting opportunities impacting forecast and/or reporting accuracy
Process/Program Evolution
In partnership with key stakeholders, support the development of new business processes necessary to maintain and expand coverage of centralized forecasting and inventory management
Support the development of new training programs intended for store, region, and global level stakeholders
Provide testing support for new replenishment technologies as they are introduced
Additional analytics and program support tasks as defined
Qualifications
Retail buying, replenishment, forecasting, and/or supply chain analytics/data management experience (2-4 years); perishables experience a plus
Self-motivated, innovative thinker willing to work in a dynamic and evolving environment
Positive attitude and flexibility to work effectively both individually and with cross-functional teams

Ability to manage, manipulate, and derive insights from large sets of complex and disparate data
Analytical curiosity, ability to think creatively and solve problems with sound business judgement
Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in Excel and other MS Office applications required
Comfort with and ability to learn new reporting, database, and automation systems; basic knowledge of tools such as SQL, Alteryx, Tableau, etc. preferred (though can be trained)
Strong attention to detail and organizational/project management skills, ability to prioritize effectively and consistently meet timelines
Nuanced understanding of WFM business, supply chain, retail and purchasing data, and perishables procurement/merchandising preferred
Excellent communication skills including verbal, written, and listening
Ability to travel when necessary
