We are continuously developing new answers for rail automation – often to questions that haven’t been asked yet.Position Overview:Siemens Mobility Inc., Rolling Stock Division produces light rail vehicles, electric and diesel locomotives, and passenger coaches. The MRP controller is a key member of the Order Management team and manages the critical and complex suppliers to ensure on time delivery of open purchase orders to support production demand.What you will be doing:

Perform Material Requirement Planning (MRP) tasks to buy items for multiple projects at Siemens Mobility.

Analyze demand in ERP, create Purchase Requisition and Purchase Orders.

Perform excess inventory analysis and coordinate with the warehouse for the availability of excess inventory. Minimize excess stock and ensure the business is left with minimum liability.

Negotiate with suppliers for Quick buys.

Possess flexibility and ability to shift priorities quickly and seamlessly.

React quickly to critical shortages and ensure purchase orders are placed in a timely manner.

Monitor changes in supply or demand (in quantity or timing) for material and correct imbalances.

Reviews, cancel or modify POs and set up rework POs per demand.

Lot size material to minimize inventory holding cost and transit cost based on the production schedule.

Create regular statistical reports and analyses for the left to buy parts for management.

Utilize supply and demand in SAP for demand planning and ensure that data is accurate and up to date and resolve any issues as required.

Monitor the Bill of Materials (BOM) and coordinate with Production planning, the engineering team, for discrepancies.

Take follow up actions with the suppliers concerning material shortages that affect production.

Assess volume requirements against planning assumptions.

Interpret and analyze Engineering drawings.

Coordinate with Material Program Managers for on-time release of purchase orders for critical parts.

Manage and track inventory transfer between within different projects and within other Siemens Mobility units.

What you will need to be successful in this role:

3 to 5 years of experience in Procurement / SCM in a manufacturing environment.

Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline – Business, Commercial, Manufacturing, or Engineering degree. Master’s preferred.

Proficient MS Excel skills. Well versed other MS Office products (Word, PP & Outlook).

Tenacious and assertive driver who escalates in supplier organization as well as internally.

We would be impressed if you are:

Highly proficient in SAP ERP

Expert in advanced Excel (Macros, conditional logics and other advanced excess skills)

Have strong technical knowledge and understanding of procurement, inventory control, and process control.

Experience working in manufacturing environment.
