Title: ATTORNEY-ADVISOR Location: United States-Virginia-Virginia Beach Job Number: 240001YD Job Summary: Provides day-to-day legal support to NEXCOM. Incumbent serves as general Attorney Assistant Counsel in the office and provides legal expertise in support of the offices mission. Duties and Responsibilities: -The Office of Counsel, Virginia Beach Office, is a component of the Office of General Counsel, Department of the Navy, and Office of Counsel, Naval Supply Systems Command. -The Office of Counsel, Virginia Beach Office, has the responsibility for providing legal advice and services to the Commander, NEXCOM, in connection with legal matters of a government contract law or civilian personnel law nature, including, as required, issues or actions involving Federal Courts claims, Longshoremens and Harbor Workers Compensation Act Claims, tax laws of Federal, State or local governments, foreign governments personnel and tax laws, etc., arising in connection with procurement or civilian personnel issues or activities. -Incumbent furnishes legal advice and services within the framework of overall Navy policy and legal policy as promulgated by the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel of the Department of the Navy, and by Counsel, Naval Supply Systems Command.
