Senior Accountant

Description Robert Half is partnering with a reputable non-profit organization in downtown San Diego to find an experienced Senior Accountant. This role can be either contract or contract-to-hire, depending on the candidate’s fit and the organization’s needs. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in full-cycle transactional accounting, as well as month-end and year-end closing processes. Experience with grant accounting is helpful but not required. Proficiency in NetSuite is essential.Responsibilities:

Perform full-cycle transactional accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.

Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

Utilize NetSuite for accounting functions, maintaining accurate financial records and documentation.

Prepare and review financial statements and reports to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities, providing financial insights and analysis.

Support audits and prepare audit schedules as needed.

Collaborate with various departments to ensure financial processes align with organizational goals.

Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff, as needed.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on full-cycle transactional accounting.

Proficiency in NetSuite is required.

Strong understanding of month-end and year-end closing processes.

Grant accounting experience is helpful but not required.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and analysis.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
