Lead Testing Laboratory Assistant

Location: Narberth, PA (5 minutes from St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, PA)

Compensation: $18-30/hr. (Based on Education and Experience)

Employment Type: Contract/Temporary with Possibility for Long Term

We are currently seeking a dedicated Lab Assistant for our lead testing laboratory in Narberth, PA. This is a temporary position with the potential for permanent placement based on performance.

Summary:

As a Lab Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the processing of client orders, primarily involving manual weighing and liquid handling of standards, calibrating and running a Flame Atompic Absorption Spectrometer and customer service representation. You will be responsible for maintaining a high level of accuracy and adhering to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual who can work both independently and collaboratively to ensure the efficient fulfillment of orders.

Responsibilities:

- Perform weighing of standards, and labeling and tracking samples

- Conduct liquid handling and analysis of aqueous analyte

- Maintain accurate records and inventory tracking

- Follow established SOPs for assigned tasks

- Adhere to quality control and safety standards

Qualifications:

- High School diploma, BS, or equivalent with a scientific discipline

- 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred but training is provided

- Prior experience in a chemical laboratory setting is advantageous

- Proficiency in the use of analytical equipment, fume hoods, and basic chemical handling procedures

- Ability to follow oral and written protocols and instructions

- Strong record-keeping skills and commitment to safety and deadlines
