Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Construction Estimator at ABD Construction, Inc. in Hampton Roads, Virginia Metropolitan Area. The Construction Estimator will be responsible for estimating the cost of construction projects, analyzing project requirements, and preparing accurate and competitive bids. They will collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure accurate cost estimates and manage material and labor costs throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Is an added value)

Proven experience as a Construction Estimator in the construction industry

Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and building codes

Excellent mathematical and analytical skills

Proficiency in using construction estimating software On-Screen takeoff estimating software experience, Plan swift, Quick bid.

Proficient understanding of commercial construction methods, particularly metal framing and drywall.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings

Effective communication and negotiation skills

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. You must have a keen attention to detail and skills at estimating projects from a bird's-eye view to set our client's expectations accurately Develop relationships and service our clients LEAD: Demonstrate strong dependable management skills and problem solving COLLABORATE: Work with vendors, engineers, clients and internal to determine best method of delivery for the project PRECONSTRUCTION: Attend pre-bid walk throughs, review, create and submit quality estimates with detailed proposals PROJECT PRICING: Prepare and submit Change Order Requests and onsite Field Work Directives STRATEGY: Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations PLANNING: Coordinate all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met DATA: Review project documents for accuracy, completeness, and familiarity DOCUMENTATION: Prepare, distribute, and track project documentation through strong written and verbal communications PURCHASING: Negotiate pricing vendors, acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies NETWORK: Build new client relationships through client meetings and trust development SAFETY: Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards (OSHA) and mentor others in Injury Free work Environments FINANCIAL: Establish, execute, predict, and monitor project financial success COMMUNICATION: Evaluate and communicate progress to clients and internal stakeholders GUIDE: Act as the liaison for clients, solving any doubts and providing solutions Benefits With an active commitment to the communities in which we operate, our associates, their families and the belief that our Team Members are the most important asset of this thriving organization, we look to empower our associates to grow professionally while providing a competitive benefits and compensation package Competitive Industry Salary Highly competitive performance incentive program that offers generous bonuses based on achievable metrics Vacation Paid 1-week paid volunteer leave each year in addition to our PTO program Charitable contribution company-match program Opportunity for advancement in a rapidly growing company First class office environment
