Lead all aspects of the development and implementation of privacy training for all Association staff, with a particular emphasis on Association staff who are involved in data processing.

Promote activities to further information privacy awareness within the American Heart Association.

Advise BT and department staff in the development and enhancement of Association systems to address privacy requirements

Perform ongoing compliance monitoring activities, including internal audits to ensure compliance and address potential issues proactively

Work with Legal and Compliance to recommend modifications to the Privacy Policy and Privacy Statement

Maintain a knowledge repository of applicable federal and state privacy laws, and monitor advancements in privacy technologies to ensure adaption and compliance.

Lead a process for receiving, documenting, tracking, and taking action on all personal information requests/ privacy complaints.

Maintain a mechanism to track access to protected health information, as required by law

Supervise a process to ensure the individuals right to inspect, amend, and restrict access to personal information and health information

Maintain comprehensive records of all data processing activities conducted by the Association, including the purposes of all processing activities

Qualifications

Some College preferred.

Two (2) - Five (5) years of validated experience.

Highly organized and able to prioritize and simultaneously lead multiple divergent projects within tight deadlines and follows through on outstanding projects/issues until completion.

Able to quickly and proactively identify and analyze issues and develop and implement solutions to prevent problems.

Highly collaborative person with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work optimally with all levels of Association's staff and volunteers.

Must possess good judgment and meticulous attention to detail.

Experienced in managing a contract management system.

Excellent written and oral communications skills.

Ability to travel up to 5% local and overnight stay.

Preferred Skills:

Strong technical aptitude; highly skilled in Microsoft Office suite of programs and Microsoft SharePoint.e.
