Description We are in the market for a Project Accountant in the non-profit sector, situated in Los Angeles, California. The successful candidate will be expected to handle crucial tasks related to accounting and finance, owing to the nature of the role. This position will be on a short term contract basis.Responsibilities include: Assisting with the creation of financial handbooks by outlining policies and procedures. Providing support for tech implementation and understanding its effects on the non-profit context. Ensuring compliance with federal audits. Creating an integrated solution by tying together existing and drafted handbooks. Handling specifics of payroll and benefits. Designing policies and procedures for a Federally funded non-profit organization. Preparing a PDF copy of the policies & procedures ready for distribution. Utilizing various accounting software systems for efficient workflow. Handling accounting functions and billing processes. Managing accounts payable and budget processes. Requirements Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is mandatory for the role Familiarity with CapEx, Costpoint, Deltek, and Deltek Vision is required Ability to handle Accounting Functions effectively Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) is important Expertise in Billing Functions Comprehensive understanding of Budget Processes Experience in the Construction industry is an added advantage Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field Proven experience as a Project Accountant in a non-profit organization would be beneficial Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification would be a plus.
