We are looking for an experienced pastry baker to join our Long Island City kitchen production team, part-time (24-30 hours per week, no weekend hours, and it can become full time in the Fall)
You should have 5+ years experience working in a bakery/commercial kitchen/
Knowledge/experience with vegan/gluten-free baking is a plus, we specialize in gluten-free baking, but not to worry, we will train you. This role is a mix of production baking, new recipe development, and taking the lead on special projects.
The ideal candidate is:
- punctual, reliable, with good problem solving skills, and can work well with others.
-Ability to weigh, mix and bake products based on recipes and kitchen standards
-Open to learning new techniques, such as vegan baking and wild fermentation
-Attention to detail, thoughtful and organized in your work
-Comfortable with working for 8+ hours, standing, lifting, portioning etc
-Must be eligible to work in the U.S/have food handlers license
-Work well with others, positive attitude!
- We speak both Spanish and English in the kitchen.
Pay starts at 23per hour and depending on experience will be higher.
