The Franklin Academy is looking for an experienced and energetic Art teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. As an art teacher for grades K-8th, you will be responsible for developing and implementing an art curriculum that fosters creativity and artistic expression in young students. The art teacher will provide instruction in various art techniques and media, woodworking/ building, pottery, and facilitate other projects that encourage students to explore their creativity. Responsibilities include maintaining an organized and inspiring art classroom, and makerspace as well as assessing and providing feedback on students' artwork. Strong communication and classroom management skills are essential for this role, as well as a passion for art education and working with children.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in art education or a related field.
A teaching license or certification is preferred.
Strong understanding of woodworking, visual arts and various art techniques.
Experience working with children in an educational setting.
A passion for fostering creativity and artistic expression in young students.
Effective communication and classroom management skills
Creating a positive and engaging learning environment
Ability to navigate computer systems for attendance and grades

Salary $49,275-$79,471
The offered salary is based on internal equity, market data, applicant’s skills and relevant experience, degrees and certifications.
