Position Title: Manufacturing Planner

Job Description:

As a Manufacturing Traveler Planner, you will be responsible for coordinating and planning the production process by creating and managing manufacturing travelers. You will work closely with production teams, engineering, quality assurance, and logistics to ensure seamless execution of manufacturing operations and timely delivery of products to customers. Estimating experience a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

Traveler Creation: Develop manufacturing travelers or work orders based on production schedules, engineering drawings, and customer requirements. Ensure that travelers contain all necessary information for the production process, including material specifications, assembly instructions, and quality standards.

Production Coordination: Coordinate with production supervisors and operators to schedule and prioritize manufacturing activities according to production targets and customer deadlines. Monitor progress and provide support to resolve any issues or delays that may arise during production.

Material Planning: Collaborate with procurement and inventory management teams to ensure availability of materials, components, and tools required for production. Coordinate with suppliers to expedite deliveries and mitigate material shortages.

Quality Assurance: Work closely with the quality assurance team to implement quality control measures and inspections at various stages of the production process. Address any non-conformities or quality issues promptly to maintain product quality and customer satisfaction.

Documentation Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of manufacturing travelers, production data, and quality documentation. Ensure compliance with internal procedures, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains in manufacturing operations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement changes and best practices to optimize production processes.

Communication: Facilitate communication between different departments, including production, engineering, procurement, and logistics, to ensure smooth coordination and alignment of activities. Provide regular updates on production status, resource availability, and any issues or concerns that may impact delivery schedules.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing coordination preferred.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and manufacturing software (e.g., ERP systems, MRP systems).

Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
