Landscape Irrigation Tech
As an Irrigation Technician with Dayton Valley Turf, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of irrigation systems for our clients' properties. Your responsibilities will include installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of irrigation systems to ensure proper watering and care of plants, lawns, and landscapes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Installation:
o Install new irrigation systems based on design plans and client requirements.
o Lay out piping, valves, and other components according to specifications.
o Ensure proper placement of sprinkler heads and drip lines for optimal coverage.
2. Maintenance:
o Regularly inspect irrigation systems to identify issues such as leaks, clogs, or malfunctions.
o Perform routine maintenance tasks such as adjusting sprinkler heads, cleaning filters, and replacing worn-out parts.
o Program irrigation controllers to adjust watering schedules based on seasonal needs and weather conditions.
3. Repair:
o Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with irrigation systems, including electrical and mechanical issues.
o Repair or replace damaged components such as pipes, valves, solenoids, and controllers.
o Test system functionality after repairs to ensure proper operation.
4. Water Management:
o Monitor water usage and make recommendations for conservation and efficiency improvements.
o Adjust irrigation schedules and settings to minimize water waste and promote healthy plant growth.
o Install water-saving devices such as rain sensors and moisture sensors to optimize irrigation efficiency.
5. Client Communication:
o Communicate with clients to understand their irrigation needs and preferences.
o Provide recommendations for system upgrades or modifications to meet client objectives.
o Educate clients on proper irrigation practices and water-saving techniques.
6. Documentation:
o Maintain accurate records of irrigation system installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
o Document parts usage, labor hours, and job details for billing and reporting purposes.
o Prepare reports or proposals outlining recommended improvements or upgrades for clients.
7. Team Collaboration:
o Coordinate with other landscaping team members to ensure seamless integration of irrigation systems with overall landscape design and maintenance plans.
o Assist with other landscaping tasks as needed to support team goals and project deadlines.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in irrigation system installation, maintenance, and repair.
Knowledge of irrigation system components, including pipes, valves, controllers, and sensors.
Familiarity with irrigation system design principles and techniques.
Ability to interpret landscaping plans and irrigation schematics.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
