Stable Hand in a heated Boarding Facility (Mendon, NY)

Experience in horse care and the handling of horses is required

Compensation: $16.00 an hour on the books

Work hours: Mornings 7-11

More hours available to the right person. Looking for someone who is flexible to cover extra days during the summer as well.

We are looking to fill a part time stable hand position on our beautiful horse farm located in the Mendon-Honeoye Falls area. Our barn is a boarding facility with 20 stalls, with a heated stabling area kept at a comfortable constant temperature in the winter.

Responsibilities include:

-Preparing and serving feed

-Daily stall cleaning

-Turning horses in and out

-Blanketing of horses when necessary

-Feed and water bucket cleaning

-Use of farm equipment such as tractor and spreader

Attention to detail, a strong work ethic, trustworthiness, a positive attitude and being able to work well independently and with others are a must. Having reliable transportation is required. Respect for the horses in our care is of the utmost importance to us.
