Concrete Carpenter
Duties:
Assist Company Foreman or lead person on projects
Assume lead position on small company projects as assigned when no Forman or
supervisor is assigned
Sign off or report time for person(s) working under you as required
Track hours and materials for extra work when required
When in lead position, insure supervised employees follow all company policies
When in lead position, facilitate weekly safety meetings and submit reports to office or Company Superintendent
Insure all site conditions are safe and report any unsafe conditions to Superintendent and/or Project Manager
Assist direct supervisor with daily scheduling and manpower for the job
When required, work directly with Company’s Project Manager and /or Superintendent in the construction of said project
When required, work with directly General Contractor or site supervisor on the construction of the project
When required, place orders to Terra-Con’s Project Manager or Superintendent for materials needed to complete the project. (All material orders must be placed at least two (2) days prior to date needed on site)
When required, oversee the operations of concrete placement. (Making sure enough concrete is ordered to complete the pour)
When required, schedule inspections with either General Contractor’s site supervisor or Terra-Con’s Superintendent
When required, handle building and Geotechnical inspections
Read and interpret civil drawing elevations to establish required building elevation
Lay-out all foundations, piers, footings and any other work that is required to complete the project.
Cut, shape, fit and assemble wood, metal and other materials to prescribed measurements using hand and power tools
Form foundations, flatwork, or site work
Dig footings
Strip and clean forms
Read and interpret construction drawings
Place concrete for foundations on slab or grades
Understand verbal instructions and take directions from Foreman, Superintendent
and/or Project Manager
Understand and comply with all rules, regulations and requirements contained
in Company’s Employee Manual
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of five years of experience in form building or finish carpentry
Working knowledge of proper framing techniques
Working knowledge of laying out foundations, piers, footings and any other work
required to complete job
Knowledge of the quality, adaptability and uses of various woods and materials
Knowledge of standard practices and methods of the carpentry trade
Good physical condition
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
