Mechanical Rigger - Boat Manufacture

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Rigger to join our team. As a Mechanical Rigger, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining rigging equipment used in a boat setting. Your primary duties will include inspecting and repairing rigging gear, setting up rigging for machinery and heavy equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.

Responsibilities:

Inspect, assemble, and repair rigging equipment including chains, slings, cables, and pulleys.

Set up rigging for machinery, heavy equipment, and structures according to blueprints and technical specifications.

Ensure that rigging equipment is properly maintained and in good working condition.

Operate hoists, cranes, and other rigging equipment safely and effectively.

Collaborate with engineers, construction workers, and other team members to plan and execute rigging operations.

Adhere to safety standards and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.

Maintain accurate records of rigging operations, inspections, and maintenance activities.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Mechanical Rigger or similar role in industrial or construction settings.

Strong knowledge of rigging techniques, equipment, and safety protocols.

Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.

Proficiency in operating hoists, cranes, and other rigging equipment.

Physical strength and stamina to lift heavy objects and work in challenging environments.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in rigging or a related field is a plus.
