We are looking for an hourly sous chef who is highly organized, dependable, clean, and efficient to join our team! Help us manage and oversee prep and service for our high volume deli. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, ambitious, andengaged.This is an AM position with an average of 42 hours per week. Shifts are from 5:30AM/6:00AM - 3:00/4:00PM, five days a week. You will be given two consecutive days off per weekResponsibilities Train and develop cooks to companystandards Anticipate ingredient needs and arrange stockaccordingly, ordering and inventory applications, FIFO, and organization of storage for ingredients and prep Will learn basics of invoicing and accounting through monthly review of a restaurant-wide PNL and will learn basic functions of our POS system, Toast Ensure a productive kitchen flow that upholdsbusiness standards Communicate through (but not limited to) Slack, Email via Google Suite, production and inventory lists, and whiteboards. Daily kitchen logs Qualifications: Experience working as a sous chef or kitchenmanager High familiarity with kitchen equipment,processes, and health and safety guideline Able to delegate tasks effectively and assistwhen needed with a high level of communication skills and emotional responsibility Adaptable to high traffic and kitchen volume: engaging various stations, to potentially include the Front-of-House, when volume dictates Bi-lingual a plus! Must have, or be able to obtain once hired, a servsafe manager certification, city of Chicago food handler and allergen certification Benefits including health care, PTO and sick days to be discussed after 90 days of employment.
