We successfully manage a growing portfolio of over 7,000 residential units across the New York City area, mostly in upper Manhattan and the Bronx, while Brooklyn's portfolio continues to grow.

Position Summary:

Real Estate or Property Management experience preferred but not required. Must be fluent in Spanish.

The Bookkeeper will work closely with the accounting department staff and report directly to the accounting supervisor. The role plays a crucial role in ensuring that the firm's portfolio of buildings runs efficiently and operates within all accounting guidelines.

A successful candidate will conduct themselves in a professional manner and will be able to communicate effectively with both internal staff and external clients. Flexibility, organization and punctuality are skills that are essential for this dynamic position. Attention to detail and the ability to multitask are essential.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

" Performing a variety of tasks related to accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger functions

" Identifying, scanning, and posting tenant and subsidized rent payments to multiple bank accounts with use of multiple scanners.

" Reviewing and analyzing tenant/subsidized ledgers and making necessary adjustments.

" Tenant security deposit review posting and analysis.

" Preparation and posting of journal entries, including intercompany transactions.

" Coding and posting of accounts payable.

" Knowledge and use of excel for both reporting and generating import files to accounting software.

" Matching and preparation of payments to vendors.

" Data analysis: investigating issues, identifying solutions, making recommendations, and implementing actions.

" Other reporting and research duties as assigned

Requirements:

" At least 1 years of Bookkeeping or related experience

" Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

" Experience with Yardi Property Management Software a plus

" Real estate industry experience a plus

" Bilingual (English/Spanish) Required

" Able to work overtime and on weekends when needed

" Highly attentive to detail

" Ability to meet deadlines, multi-task, prioritize and is self-motivated

" Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Office Hours:

" Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm
