Nursery/Pre-School Provider at Trinity United Methodist Church
About Us: Trinity United Methodist Church (TUM) is a vibrant and progressive community that values inclusivity, social justice, and spiritual growth. We are seeking a Nursery/Pre-School Provider to join our team and support our ministry.
Position Summary:The Nursery/Pre-School Provider reports directly to the Senior Pastor & Chair of Spiritual Formation Committee. This role involves working with volunteers and TUM parents to provide a safe, caring, loving, fun learning environment for children, ages 6 months-5 years.
Responsibilities:
● Provide childcare during TUM Sunday morning worship services.
● Offer age-appropriate stories and lessons from books and other resources.
● Organize room and keep it neat.
● Attend Spiritual Formation Committee meetings (usually quarterly, or as scheduled).
● Work 2-3 hours per week.
Qualifications:
● Demonstrates affectionate and skilled childcare practices.
● Engages all types of children with ease regardless of their learning style, age, or developmental level.
● Serves as a positive role model for children of all ages.
● Is reliable and punctual.
● Demonstrates excellent people skills and sensitivity when working with families, staff, volunteers and members of the congregation.
● Affirms TUMC's Educational Values and our Joy and Justice value system.
● At least one year paid work experience in a childcare setting, school or similar organization.
Requirements:
● Pass a background check.
● Sign TUMC'S "Safe Sanctuary Policy".
● Be certified in infant/child CPR and first aid or be willing to complete this certification; within two (2) months of being hired.
● Provide references attesting to the knowledge, skills, and abilities described above.
Pay:
● This is an hourly position, paid at $22 - $27 an hour.
