Job Summary:

The Group Lead at RTS Companies US Inc. is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing the entire shift's operations. This individual ensures the production team adheres to all performance, quality, and safety standards. The Group Lead will lead by example, providing hands-on assistance, coaching, and training to the team. This position reports directly to the Production Manager and plays a key role in driving continuous improvement and fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Compensation:

The Group Lead will be paid a starting salary of $50,000/yr ($25/hr) with opportunities for advancement and performance-based increases.

Shift Schedule (hiring on second shift):

8-10 Hour Afternoon Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM (performing shift hand off at each shift change. 15 minutes before shift and 15 minutes after shift)

Key Responsibilities:

Operational and Motivational Leadership:

Oversee the entire shift’s production operations, ensuring all goals and quality standards are consistently achieved.

Monitor and adjust production schedules and workflow to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.

Provide hands-on support to the team (situation coaching), stepping in to assist with machine operation, troubleshooting, and other tasks as needed.

Take ownership of shift performance, working diligently to maximize output while minimizing scrap.

Inspire and rally the team, fostering a positive, energetic work environment.

Engage with team members regularly to build morale and promote a strong team culture.

Lead by example, demonstrating dedication, enthusiasm, and a commitment to excellence.

Team Development and Accountability:

Lead, mentor, and train team members on rotomolding processes, safety protocols, and quality control measures.

Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, ensuring team members follow and improve processes consistently.

Conduct regular performance evaluations with all team members and provide constructive feedback and coaching to team members to create an environment that allows for growth.

Quality and Safety Assurance:

Uphold rigorous quality control standards, intervening directly to correct quality issues.

Coach all members of the team on quality, helping people understand what drives scrap and showing pre-emptive methods to fix problems at the source.

Ensure all safety protocols are followed and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Regularly lead safety and training sessions on the floor, ensuring standards are taught and met.

Reporting and Communication:

Report shift performance metrics, issues, and improvement opportunities to the Production Manager.

Collaborate with Lead Operators and the team to identify and implement process improvements.

Communicate effectively with team members, management, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify and implement opportunities to improve production processes, quality, and efficiency.

Participate in and lead continuous improvement initiatives and projects.

Encourage team input and innovation to drive improvements across the plant.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in manufacturing preferred.

Minimum of 4 years of experience in rotational molding, including leadership responsibilities.

Demonstrated ability to lead a team and manage production operations effectively.

Strong mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of instructing and inspiring a team.
