Job Summary:

As an Experienced Rotomolding Operator at RTS Companies US Inc., you will utilize your knowledge and expertise to operate and maintain rotomolding machinery efficiently and effectively. This position serves as a critical step between entry-level and lead operator roles, offering opportunities for career advancement within the company.

Compensation:

The Experienced Rotomolding Operator will be paid a starting wage of $19/hr. RTS encourages advancement in the company for motivated employees, with clear runways towards lead operator positions which are focused on a blend of production and leadership (see lead operator role for details).

Shift Schedule (hiring on all three shifts):

8 Hour Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM

8 Hour Afternoon Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

8 Hour Night Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM

All shifts include 30-minute paid lunch

Key Responsibilities:

Machine Operation:

o Operate rotational molding machinery and equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures.

o Measure and manage the loading of plastic resin into staging bins in accordance with the shift schedule.

o Load molds with the appropriate resin and monitor the molding process.

o Adjust cycle times, mold temperatures, and rotational speeds as needed to ensure optimal production and product quality.

o Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues with machinery promptly to minimize downtime.

Quality Control:

o Inspect finished products for defects and ensure they meet RTS Companies’ quality standards before moving them to secondary for trimming.

o Conduct routine checks and measurements to ensure product specifications are met and non-conformities are caught as soon as possible.

o Implement and suggest improvements to quality control processes and procedures.

o Train and mentor entry-level operators on quality standards and best practices.

Maintenance and Cleaning:

o Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of molds and machinery.

o Assist in mold changes and setup for different product runs.

o Diagnose and repair minor mechanical issues to ensure continuous operation.

o Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.

Team Collaboration:

o Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.

o Communicate effectively with other departments as needed to ensure smooth operations.

o Contribute to continuous improvement and provide suggestions to team members and supervisors on how to improve production.

o Assist in training and guiding entry-level operators to ensure they understand and follow operational procedures.

Safety:

o Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

o Identify and report potential safety hazards and implement corrective actions as necessary.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in rotational molding or a similar manufacturing environment.

Strong mechanical aptitude and proven ability to operate and troubleshoot machinery.

Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Good physical condition, able to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.

Basic math skills for measuring and calculating material amounts.

Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
