Montessori Support Assistant

Happy Valley Montessori School is actively seeking a Primary Support Assistant (children 2 ½ -6 years of age) to commence Monday, September 2nd, 2024. It is FULL TIME position of roughly 40 hours weekly with an Open House and a few Parent Education evenings throughout the school. Fridays are early closure at 1pm.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:

Support cleaning of classroom (vacuum, mop, sanitizing dishes, wipe tables, etc.)

Assist children with mealtimes, bathroom and napping

Light food preparation

Ability to be outside for up to two hours a day in ALL weather conditions

Ability to stand for long periods of time, lift, carry, reach, stretch, bend, & sit on the ground

Ability to carry up to 50 pounds & move/lift chairs, tables, dish racks, etc.

Happy Valley Montessori will help you obtain all other required certifications within 30 days of employment. HVM will also consider full funding for certificates, licenses, and further education for qualified applicants.)

COMPENSATION:

$16-22/hour. No experience necessary, but a love of children and their wellbeing is a must! To be considered for the top end of the pay scale, a degree in Early Childhood Education, a Step 10 on the Oregon Registry, and/or at least 5 years of experience with young children is needed.

All staff get 4 weeks of paid closure vacation time, 11 paid holidays, and earn PTO/sick/flex time up to 80 hours a year.
