JOB SUMMARY:

Under general direction, completes various project activities, including demolition, layout, framing (wood and/or metal), scaffold building, drywall and acoustical ceilings installation, door, hardware and window installation, casework assembly and installation, and finish trim work. Interacts with team members, subcontractors and other trades as it relates to the project. Helps prepare work areas for subsequent trades, and observes all safety and quality requirements necessary.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.

A good understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.

Recommend solutions to design problems, including conflicts, interferences and errors/omissions.

Monitor and execute field work to ensure compliance with company standards, procedures, specifications, and codes.

Follow established safety rules and regulations, and to maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Assist with the preparation of field change requests to resolve design issues.

Attend project coordination and owner/contractor/architect/engineer meetings as requested or required.

The ability to operate power tools such as reciprocal saws, circular saws, table saws, drills, nail guns, and other equipment, as well as the faculty to use a variety of hand tools.

Good working knowledge of construction materials.

The ability to layout walls, doors and finish work.

Proficient in the use of levels (laser or spirit), plumb bobs, framing squares and measuring tools to ensure accuracy.

Take periodic job-related photographs for records.

Present oneself as a candidate for promotion by learning and understanding construction methods and developing good construction management skills.

Additional duties as assigned.

Applicants must have a clean driver's license and be able to travel to and from project locations
