Private Caregiver Position, $25/hr (N Scottsdale)

Hello, my name is Claire. I am an intelligent 59-year-old woman with advanced muscular dystrophy looking for a qualified caregiver/personal assistant. The schedule is somewhat flexible, as I need coverage every day 24/7.

This is a unique caregiving position which requires skilled caregiving experience mixed with personal assistant skills. English writing skills required.

Caregiving duties: grooming, showering, preparing and feeding meals, exercise movements, bowel care, upbeat emotional support, and light housekeeping. Although I can bear some standing weight, candidate MUST BE STRONG enough to turn me in bed, assist getting me to standing and transfer to a wheelchair, car, and pool lift. I weigh approximately 125 pounds. Caregiving equipment includes: electric sit-to-stand, commode, and power mobility devices.

Personal assistant duties: Because I am a writer with limited use of my hand muscles, candidate MUST BE proficient enough with the English language to help with text messaging, emails, and blogging on Apple devices.

Training and instruction will be given by my current caregivers and myself. $15/hr to train (generally 3-4 short sessions); $20/hr to begin; $25/hr daytime rate after 1 month; $16/hr nighttime rate.

Being on time, reliable, common sense, team player, and upbeat personality are very important.

Please be willing to get yearly flu vaccine. AZ fingerprint card and CPR/First aid training necessary. Male or female.

There is also potential for a live-in situation, which includes housing (without pets), plus a stipend.
