Physical Therapy Tech
Physical Therapy Tech needed for the planning and implementation of patient care at a small outpatient physical therapy clinic in Williamsburg, VA.
General Summary of Duties:
Responsible for assisting Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants with patient care to include therapeutic exercises & movements and other non-skilled services. Responsible for performing clinic maintenance to include cleaning and maintaining patient care and storage areas. Other duties may include inventory, answering phones and assisting customers, scheduling, and any other activity assigned by clinic staff.
Job Duties:
- Comforts patients by anticipating patients' anxieties; answering patients' questions; maintaining the clinic area.
- Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
- Protects patients' rights by maintaining the confidentiality of personal and financial information.
- Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Schedule the patient for therapy.
- Preparing rooms for patient visits.
- Cleaning and organizing for patient services.
- Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
- Optimizes patients' satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proficient in computer skills
- Excellent Customer Service and Telephone skills
- Requires ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with the treatment team and the patient.
Bonus Requirements:
- Previous Tech experience preferred
- Knowledge of the principles, practices, standards and techniques for physical therapy modalities and equipment preferred.
- Personal / Fitness training experience & knowledge
