We are a small, environmentally friendly, wedding and event floral design studio in Woolwich. We are seeking a creative and hardworking seasonal assistant who appreciates the beauty of flowers to join our team. The perfect candidate should have an eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and be able to follow directions to work independently.
Responsibilities
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workspace
Clean and prepare flowers for arranging
Clean and prepare vases for arrangements
Assist with inventory management and organization
Assist in delivering and setting up arrangements and decor for events
Wash buckets and clean supplies from events
Pickup rental items and clean up florals from event sites
Prepare excess or used flowers for donation
Take short phone videos of arrangements and installations
Create short photo and video clips for social media
Skills
Ability to lift 25-40 lbs of flowers, water buckets, ladders, and other objects
Ability to climb ladders comfortably up to 12 feet
Ability to work while standing
Ability to walk distances over grassy or woodland areas
Strong organizational skills
Ability to create short video clips for social media
Drivers License
Important Notes
Wedding days are time-sensitive and involve travel, so it is essential that the assistant is always on time and works efficiently and effectively throughout the day with the guidance of the lead designer.
Saturdays are critical days in our business and will be required. Sundays will occasionally be required. Other days and hours can be flexible, but we are ideally looking for someone with Wednesday availability.
This position would currently run from mid-July to mid-October with the potential for renewal next season.
Some late evenings and earlier mornings may be required on weeks with larger events scheduled.
